Ghanaian attacker John Sam is one of the Africans who are making headlines in Thailand football.
The former graduate of Mohammed Polo's Academy emerged as his club best player after his stellar performance last season. He scored 12 goals and made nine assists in his 20 appearances for The Crows.
Sam currently plays for Thai lower-tier side Nonthaburi FC.
Kickgh.com's (KG),Guest writer George Payne caught up with the youngster from his base in Thailand.
KG: Who is John Sam?
JS: I come from Takoradi where I started my career with Young kotoko and later join Mohammed Polo Academy.
KG: How is it like playing football in Thailand?
JS: Thailand football is interesting and it involves a lot of Foreign players. There's a lot of possession and pace in the game. Football here is now moving to the highest level.
KG: How would you assess your performance last season?
JS: Last season performance was not bad, I played in 20 matches and scored 12 goals with 9 assist. And I was emerged as the club's best Player.
KG: How would you compare football in Thailand to Ghana?
JS: Is totally different, the accommodation here is better than Ghana and football itself here too is faster with possession. Ghana have the talent but here they 're quick learners.
KG: Would you consider playing in the Ghana Premier League?
JS: Laughs....Yeah I will consider it only if the offer is good. Besides Ghana league is also one of Africa's best league.
KG: Are you open for a call up to the Ghana national team?
JS: Yes, Is every players dream to wear the national colours. I want to play for Ghana and am looking forward for a call up.
KG: Last word for your fans and Family?
JS: First I give thanks to God and I want each and everyone to continue praying for me. I thank them for being there for me and I love them all.
