Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club have expressed interest in signing former Black Meteors forward Samuel Obeng Gyabaa in the closing stages of the ongoing winter transfer window.

The 27-year-old currently plies his trade with Portuguese topflight side Casa Pia AC where he joined just last summer from Spanish La Liga II side SD Huesca.

Obeng is gradually finding his rhythm since arriving at the Lisbon-based club having netted one goal in 11 matches so far and will hope for more game time and goals subsequently.

Reports surfacing in the local media are that, the Red Castles are looking forward to strengthening their attacking force and have identified Obeng Gyabaa as the perfect figure to add up to their fire ammunition in their quest to winning the Morocco Botola Pro League and the Club World Cup.

Negotiations between both parties is currently in an advanced stage with agreement likely to be reached for the move to happen.

Samuel Obeng Gyabaa had all his European spells in Spain until this one having played for clubs like Getafe, Girona, Real Oviedo, Granollers, Calahorra and others.

Samuel Obeng Gyabaa has made five appearances for the national U23 team with two goals to his belt and is yet to earn his maiden Black Stars call-up
