The French Third-Tier outfit have announced the loan signing of the 20-year-old widesman of Ghanaian descent in this current winter transfer window
French-born Ghanaian winger Stredair Appuah has completed his transfer loan move to French Championnat National side Valenciennes FC from Italian Serie B outfit Palermo, the club have confirmed.
The former FC Nantes youth product, who joined the Italian Second-Tier campaigners on a five-year deal last summer, is set to spent the rest of the 2024-25 season in the French lower division contest following his lack of game time so far this term.
An excerpt of an official confirmation over the loan signing of the Ghana-prospect read: ''A new player for VAFC! Aged 20, Stredair Appuah joins the Red and Whites this Friday on loan until the end of the season. This wide striker, capable of playing on the right and left, arrives directly from Palermo where he has been playing in Italian Serie B since the start of the season.''
Sporting director Ben Chorley had this to say right after capturing the loan services of the 20-year-old via the club's official website: ''We continue to strengthen our squad in the transfer window with this fourth arrival. Stredair is a player we have been following for a long time and being able to speak to him about the project was very important. The professional structure we have in place has allowed us to work with Palermo to finalise the loan. The manager was looking for a player who is tall, fast, strong and has excellent one-on-one skills. Stredair fits that profile. We are very happy to have him.”
Appuah figured in 4 games across all competitions for Palermo in this ongoing Serie B campaign before sealing his transfer loan move this January.
Given his Ghanaian root, he is eligible to play for Ghana on the international stage as he is yet to be cap-tied by the French senior national team.
