Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been named the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month winner for February 2026 after an outstanding strike for Leicester City.
The 22-year-old secured the fan-voted award for his brilliant half-volley against Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on February 7, 2026.
The goal highlighted his technical quality, as he expertly controlled a loose clearance on the edge of the box with his chest before striking a well-timed half-volley that flew into the net.
This is the second time Fatawu has won the award in the 2025/26 season, having previously claimed it in August 2025 for a solo effort against Charlton Athletic.
Reacting to the recognition, Fatawu expressed satisfaction but emphasized his focus on helping Leicester’s campaign. He noted that the award serves as motivation to continue contributing goals and assists for the team.
The winger has been in impressive form throughout the season, registering 9 goals and 7 assists in 37 appearances, with his consistency further underlined by a remarkable 65-yard goal earlier in December.
His performances have reportedly attracted interest from top European clubs, with his market value estimated at around €24 million.
