Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan opened his goal-scoring account for Juventus Next Gen in their home loss to Catania in the Italian Serie C on Saturday evening.
Afena-Gyan came off the bench to score a consolation goal in Juventus Next Gen's 3-1 defeat to Catania at Stadio Pozzo-Lamarmora.
Catania commenced the fixture with an impressive display by opening the scoring in the 25th minute through Armando Anastasio.
On the hour mark, Roberto Inglese doubled their lead with a fine strike before Mario Ierardi was shown the second yellow card to leave Catania as a manless side in the 70th minute.
Two minutes later, Christos Papadopoulos of Juventus Next Gen was sent off for unsportsmanlike behavior.
Afena-Gyan needed only 14 minutes to announce his presence in the shirt of the Bianconeri with a stunning strike in the 79th minute of the game.
However, the visitors restored their two-goal lead through an 84th minute goal from Alessandro Quaini.
This is the second defeat of the Juventus Next Gen of the ongoing season after three league games in the Group C of the Italian Serie C, occupying 14th position with just three points.
Afena-Gyan joined Juventus Next Gen on a season-long loan deal from Serie B side US Cremonese on the last summer transfer deadline day.
