Ghanaian defender Zakaria Takia has joined Jordanian top-flight side Etihad Club Women from Ghana Women’s Premier League outfit Northern City Ladies FC for the 2025/26 season.
The young defensive rock, who has represented Ghana at both U17 and U20 level, signed a one-year contract and is expected to strengthen Etihad’s back line.
Takia made over 50 league appearances in Ghana after starting her career with Tamale Super Ladies in 2019.
“Zakaria Takia, a rising star in Ghana, is a defender for the Ghana Women’s U20 National Team, known for her precise passing and quick anticipation,” the club said in a social media post.
“Zakaria has represented Ghana at both U17 and U20 levels, competing in the FIFA U17 and U20 World Cup Qualifiers. Here’s to solid defenses and unforgettable wins… Welcome to your new home, our Ghanaian Dragon.”
