According to TEAMtalk, Brendan Rodgers is considering his former players at Leicester City to strengthen the Celtic squad as he prepares to return as the manager.
One player on his radar is Ghana defender Daniel Amartey, who previously worked with Rodgers at Leicester.
Amartey, who spent eight seasons at Leicester City and played 145 matches for the club, is now a free agent after leaving at the end of his contract this season.
His ability to provide cover in both defence and midfield makes him an attractive prospect for Celtic.
While Amartey has been in discussions with clubs in Turkey and has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, recent reports suggest that Celtic is now in the running to sign him. The Scottish club is said to be preparing to contact the player's agent.
After leaving Leicester in April, Rodgers initially planned to take a break from the game. H
owever, sources indicate that he has now developed a keen interest in bringing Amartey on board to enhance Celtic's defensive options.
