Ghanaian left-back Hamidu Abdul Fatawu has signed for Algerian Ligue 1 newcomers MB Rouissat on a free transfer after parting ways with Egyptian Premier League side Ghazl El Mahalla.
The 26-year-old departs El Mahalla following the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign, during which he made 22 appearances in all competitions. His consistent defensive solidity and ability to push forward in attack made him an important figure throughout his one-year stay in Egypt.
Abdul Fatawu joined El Mahalla in July 2024 after impressing with Medeama SC during their CAF Champions League campaign. His performances on the continental stage showcased his pace, positional intelligence, and calmness under pressure, qualities that earned him a move abroad.
Later that year, he made his senior debut for Ghana, delivering a commanding performance in the Black Stars’ 3-1 win over Liberia — a display that underlined his credentials as a dependable option on the left flank.
At MB Rouissat, Abdul Fatawu arrives with both top-flight and international experience, qualities that could prove invaluable as the newly promoted side prepares for its debut season in the Algerian top tier. His versatility and tireless work rate are expected to play a key role in helping the club adapt to the demands of elite competition.
