Ghana international Forson Amankwah says his main goal for the upcoming season is to help Norwich City secure promotion to the Premier League.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Championship side last summer from Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg but saw his debut campaign end in disappointment as Norwich finished 13th with 57 points, falling short of their top-flight ambitions.
Speaking to Flashscore, Amankwah emphasised that both he and the club are determined to bounce back and mount a serious promotion push in the 2025/26 season.
“The club wants to get promoted, so as a player, you also need that because the Premier League is the best league,” he said. “It’s the top league, and everybody’s watching it. I’m prepared for that, and I hope we get the best out of it.
“We hope for the best next season, and I believe we can get promoted. We will do everything and try our best to achieve that.”
Norwich began their new campaign with a 2-1 home defeat to Millwall at Carrow Road. Amankwah will now aim to help the Canaries register their first win of the season when they host Watford in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, before travelling to face Portsmouth in the league.
