The teen sensation of Ghanaian origin has inked a new deal with the German second-tier side, with the duration of the terms undisclosed


German-born Ganaian budding forward llyas Ansah has extended his stay with Bundesliga 2 side SC Paderborn 07, the club have announced.

The promising teenager, who signed his first professional contract in June last year, has been tied down to a long-term contract given his promising showings as a rising star at the Home Deluxe Arena.

"The SCP07 has agreed to an early extension of his existing contract with Ilyas Ansah. The striker from our own offspring will therefore remain at Pader beyond the 2023/2024 season. Those involved agreed not to disclose the exact duration of the contract," a statement over the former VfL Bochum youth star reads.

Sporting director Benjamin Weber had this to tell his official club's website right after tying down the youngster to a new deal : "Ilyas is a prime example of the development that we strive for with young players in our club. He recommended himself from his own youth through the U21 squad for the second division squad and has already shown his qualities at this level. His path is still a long way off In the end, we will certainly have a lot of fun with him."

Ansah still remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana at the international level despite featuring for the German U20 national youth team.
