The former Watford U21 star has penned a fresh term with the English sixth-tier campaigners, with his new deal set to take him through to 2027 at the New Eyrie Stadium 

German-born Ghanaian midfielder Junior Gyamfi has extended his contract with National League North club Bedford Town Football Club, the club have confirmed.

The 22-year-old, who joined up with the English lowly division club on a free transfer in the summer of 2024, has excelled much to the delight of the club's management and has decided to exercised their one-year contract extension option to keep him beyond the upcoming summer transfer window.

A statement over the contract extension deal of the former MK Dons midfielder reads: ''Bedford Town Football Club is pleased to confirm that it has triggered an option in Junior Gyamfi’s contract, extending his stay with the Eagles until the end of the 2026/27 season.

''Following a positive meeting with the club, Gyamfi has agreed to the extension and becomes the first player to commit his future ahead of next season.

''A key figure in the squad with 99 appearances for the club across two spells, Gyamfi’s energy, consistency, and commitment have made him an important part of the team both on and off the pitch. His new deal provides an early boost as preparations begin for the 2026/27 campaign. Everyone at the club is thrilled to secure Junior’s services and looks forward to his continued contribution in an Eagles shirt.''

Speaking to the club's official website, Gyamfi said: ''l'm pleased to have my option triggered. I’ve been working hard to keep improving, and now the focus is on what’s ahead, continuing to grow, pushing forward with the team, and building towards bigger things togethe.''

The Ghana-prospect midfielder has made a significant 40 appearances by netting once and assisting four for Bedford Town in this current 2025-26 campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hamburg-born native remains fit to play for the Ghana national football team on the international stage.
