The German fourth-tier campaigners and the winger of Ghanaian origin are going their separate ways this summer after being together for more than two seasons in the lower division contests

Regionalliga Südwest club Kickers Offenbach have released German-born Ghanaian winger Stephan Mensah ahead of the start of the 2026/27 football season, the club have announced.

The 25-year-old, who joined up with the OFC in a free transfer during the summer of 2024, would not have his current deal renewed at the Stadion am Bieberer Berg when it comes to a close on June 30, 2026.

With his vast experience in the German fourth division league, the former Karlsruher SC U17 star would not be short of potential suitors in the upcoming transfer window given his spells with Chemnitzer FC, SpVgg Unterhaching and Kickers Offenbach so far in the lowly division contests.

A statement confirming his release together with his other seven team-mates read: ''Several players will be saying goodbye at the final game of the season. OFC will be parting ways with Sascha Korb, Vincent Moreno, Ron Berlinski, Marc Wachs, Boubacar Barry, Stephan Mensah, Jona Borsum, and Kilian Skolik at the end of the season.

''OFC thanks each and every one of them for their service, some of them for many years, while wearing the OFC jersey and wishes each and every one of them all the best and much success, both privately and professionally! The players will be officially bid farewell at the stadium tomorrow, approximately 20 minutes before kick-off.''

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Karlsruhe-born native remains fit to switch nationality and represent the Ghana national football team at the senior level on the international stage after featuring for the Germany U17 & U18 national youth teams.
