The 21-year-old forward of Ghanaian descent and Die Rothosen are going their separate ways this summer after spending time together for one season in the German football competitions

Bundesliga side Hamburger SV have announced the departure of German-born Ghanaian youngster Maurice Boakye ahead of the start of the new football season.

The former VfB Stuttgart ll attacking forward, who joined the Hamburger SV ll during the summer of 2025, is now set to move on this coming summer, with 2. Bundesliga duo VfL Bochum and Arminia Bielefeld the potential suitors likely to snap up his services on a free transfer when his current existing contract runs out on June 30, 2026.

The German outfit took to their micro-blogging platform lnstagram to announce the departure of the 19-year-old rising star together with his thirteen other team-mates at the youth level.

Before his departure this summer, Boakye took in 33 appearances by racking up 23 goals and setting up another 4 for Hamburger SV ll in the just concluded 2025/26 campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Hamburg-born native remains eligible to switch nationality and represent the Ghana national football team at the senior level on the international stage.
