Black Stars duo Denis Odoi and Kamal Sowah dream of reaching the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals with Club Brugge ended on Tuesday night following a 5-1 heavy defeat to Benfica.

Goncalo Ramos scored twice as Benfica emphatically beat Club Bruges to secure their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The hosts, who won the first leg 2-0, opened the scoring in the first half with a smart finish from Rafa Silva.

Ramos then showed great footwork to make it 4-0 on aggregate, before stabbing home from close range.

Joao Mario's penalty and David Neres' finish wrapped up the win before Bjorn Meijer scored a stunning consolation.

Talented midfielder Kamal Sowah lasted for 74 minutes of the game action before he was substituted while Denis Odoi was introduced on the 62nd minute as replacement for Clinton Mata.

Sowah, 23, managed to score two goals in seven games for Club Brugge in this season's Champions League. Odoi also featured in seven games.

The two players are expected to be named in Chris Hughton's squad list for the Black Stars' Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Angola later this month.
