Italian Serie C side Potenza Calcio have announced the signing of Ghanaian defender Claud Adjapong on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old right-back joins as a free agent following his departure from Ascoli Calcio at the end of the 2024/25 season. Adjapong’s deal will keep him at the Stadio Alfredo Viviani until June 2027.
“Potenza Calcio announces that it has acquired the rights to the sporting performances of the 1998-born footballer Claud Adjapong until June 30, 2027. A warm welcome to Claud in the red and blue jersey!” the club said in a statement.
Adjapong, born in Modena to Ghanaian parents, has spent the bulk of his career in the Italian football system, including spells in Serie A with Sassuolo and appearances for Reggina, Lecce, and Modena. He has also represented Italy at U19, U20, and U21 levels.
The move is seen as a key reinforcement for Potenza as they seek to strengthen their defensive line ahead of the new campaign.
Although capped at youth level by Italy, Adjapong remains eligible to represent Ghana at senior international level — a possibility that could gain momentum as he aims to revive his career with consistent performances in Serie C.
