KRC Genk and Black Stars forward, Joseph Paintsil has expressed his admiration for the English Premier League and his desire to play in it during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Paintsil had an exceptional season, scoring 18 goals and providing 14 assists. His impressive performances were instrumental in Genk's strong campaign, as they narrowly missed out on winning the Belgian league and secured a place in the Champions League for the next season.
Even before the season came to a close, rumors began circulating about Paintsil's potential departure from Belgium, with several Premier League clubs expressing their interest. Prominent suitors such as Brentford, Fulham, and Brighton and Hove Albion have emerged, all eager to acquire the services of this exceptional and in-form attacker.
The Premier League has unquestionably become one of the most captivating leagues in recent years, attracting top players from around the world. Paintsil, closely following the league, shares the desire to experience it firsthand.
“Every professional footballer will love to play in the English Premier League. That’s the best competition in Europe. I will be looking forward to being taken and representing one of the teams in England,” he said.
“But it’s football and this is the duty of the agent. For me, I’ve already done what I’m supposed to do. So I will just leave it for my agent and the club to decide.
“I will be really happy if teams in England approach and take my best moments and I also show the world and England that I’m capable of giving 100% commitment to whichever club I join.
Paintsil will soon join Chris Hughton's team in camp as the Black Stars prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Madagascar on June 18, 2023.
