Ghana youth international Foster Apetorgbor came off the bench a stunning goal to secure a sweet win for Sandefjord against Sarpsborg 08 in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday afternoon.
Apetorgbor, who is a member of the Ghana U20 team, scored a crucial winning goal to end Sandefjord winless streak after eight matches in this season’s campaign.
Sandefjord managed to record a 2-1 away win over Sarpsborg 08 in the match-week 17 fixture at the Sarpsborg Stadion.
The visitors were confident of ending their eight-game winless run in this game as they took the lead through Oscar Kapskarmo in the 28th minute of the game.
Before the end of first half, Daniel Karlsbakk snatched the leveller in the 36th minute with a cool finish to make it one-all draw.
Apetorgbor needed just four minutes to announce his presence in the game with the match winner in the 57th minute with a spectacular strike.
The 18-year-old was introduced in the 53rd minute as a replacement for Belgian forward Evangelos Patoulidis and he made an instant impact.
He sealed a long-term move to the Norwegian side after ending his stay with defunct Ghana Premier League club Nsoatreman FC.
Apetorgbor has now scored one goal and provided one assist in six matches in the Norwegian Eliteserien.
He is expected to be named in the Ghana U20 squad for the 2027 Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
