German-born Ghanaian defender, Derrick Köhn is on the verge of joining Werder Bremen on loan from Galatasaray, with the transfer window nearing its close.
Reports indicate that Köhn could provide the much-needed reinforcement for Bremen's left wing.
Sky Sports initially broke the news of Bremen’s interest in the 23-year-old left-back, and the club is now in advanced negotiations with Galatasaray. DeichStube, a source closely connected with Bremen, confirms that an agreement has been reached with Köhn, and discussions with Galatasaray are ongoing.
Turkish journalist Ertan Süzgün reports that a deal between Bremen and Galatasaray is already in place, with Köhn expected to arrive in Bremen by Friday at the latest.
Born in Hamburg, Köhn began his youth career at HSV and later played 53 matches for Hannover 96 in the second division. He joined Galatasaray in February for €3.35 million and became a regular starter for the Turkish side during the latter part of the season. According to Transfermarkt, Köhn’s current market value is €6 million.
