The 26-year-old attacking forward has penned a fresh term over an extension with the German fifth tier campaigners, with his new deal set to take him through to 2027 at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stadion
Ghanaian centre-forward Fred Mensah has signed a one-year contract extension with Oberliga club VfV 06 Hildesheim ahead of the summer transfer window, the club have confirmed.
The former SV Werder Bremen U17 star, who linked up with the German lowly division outfit in the summer of 2022, has seen his great impact recognized by the club's hierarchy and has now decided to continue their project with his services for the 2026/27 season.

A statement confirming the contract renewal of the Ghanaian striker together with his team-mate Hady El Saleh read: ''Two pillars of the current squad will also be with the team next season. VfV 06's management is counting on Fred Mensah and Hadi El Saleh not only for their playing skills, but also for their experience and their value to the locker room and team spirit. With Fredo and Hadi, two real characters are staying on board.
''Fred Mensah, a former Ghanaian U-20 international, came to VfV 06 Hildesheim from Werder Bremen after a one-year stint in the Regionalliga (fourth tier) with Jeddeloh. That was four years ago, and now, after 127 games and 21 goals, he's firmly established in the cathedral city. Fred had already proven he knows where the goal is at Werder Bremen, where he scored an impressive 40 goals in various youth teams. So, Fred, new season, new goalscoring luck!''

Mensah figured in 22 games by netting and assisting once for VfV 06 Hildesheim across all competitions in the just concluded campaign.
Born and raised in Mampong Ashanti, Ghana, Mensah remains fit to play for the Ghana national football team at the senior level, with the Spain national football team also an option for him on the international stage.
