Ghanaian forward Mathew Cudjoe marked his first goal for Israeli side Bnei Sakhnin in their 2-1 triumph over Beitar Jerusalem on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
The 20-year-old, who joined the club just three weeks ago on a free transfer, made an impact in his third appearance, showcasing his playmaking abilities and finishing skills.
Cudjoe’s memorable goal came in the 54th minute when he blasted a powerful shot from inside the box, doubling Bnei Sakhnin’s lead. His goal followed a brilliant play that began near the center circle. After receiving a pass, Cudjoe launched it down the right wing to Obeida Darwish, who delivered a precise cross into the box, setting up Cudjoe to finish with authority.
Earlier in the game, Cudjoe had already made his presence felt by assisting Konstantinos Sotiriou’s opening goal in the 12th minute. Although Beitar Jerusalem managed to pull one back in the 57th minute, Bnei Sakhnin held their ground to secure the win.
This goal marks a promising start for the Ghana youth international at Bnei Sakhnin, highlighting his potential to make a strong impact in the Israeli Premier League.
