Ghanaian forward, Osman Bukari has been granted Serbian citizenship by the government following his move to the country's top-flight football league last year.

Bukari joined Red Star Belgrade in June 2022 and played a key role in the team's success, contributing to their domestic double triumph.

This citizenship document represents a significant milestone in Bukari's journey, bridging cultures and fostering a closer bond between Ghana and Serbia, while also providing benefits for his club career.

Upon Red Star Belgrade's return from their pre-season in Russia, the Black Stars winger will receive his Serbian passport.

It's important to note that Bukari will not change nationalities to represent Serbia, but he will no longer be classified as a foreign player at Red Star Belgrade.

This new status also allows him to bypass certain restrictions on the number of foreign players within the team. It's a significant step forward for the talented winger, enabling him to fully contribute to the squad without any limitations.

Having joined Red Star Belgrade in a €3 million deal from Belgian side KAA Gent, Bukari made an immediate impact in his debut season, scoring 15 goals in 38 appearances for the club.
