Ghana international Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer delivered an impressive performance for Hamburger SV in their 2-2 draw against Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga 2 on Saturday.
The 23-year-old Black Stars forward started the match and played 82 minutes at the VELTINS-Arena, registering an assist in a hard-fought encounter that saw both teams share the spoils.
Schalke were reduced to ten men just three minutes into the game after Kenan Karaman was shown a straight red card. Despite the early setback, the hosts took the lead in the 15th minute through Ron Schallenberg.
Hamburg responded well and equalized in the 41st minute through Emir Sahiti. Königsdörffer played a key role in the turnaround, providing the assist for Sahiti’s second goal before halftime as the visitors took a 2-1 lead.
However, with just nine minutes remaining, Moussa Sylla struck to level the score for Schalke and deny Hamburg all three points.
Königsdörffer has now tallied 11 goals and 3 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for Hamburg this season.
