English-born Ghanaian defensive midfielder Ethan Ampadu is in line for contract extension at Premier League side Leeds United, a report has indicated.
The 25-year-old, who linked up with the newly-promoted English elite division side from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, has so far built a strong reputation as a central figure in the setup of German manager Daniel Farke for the past three seasons.
Per Football lnsider, Leeds United have opened negotiations with Ampadu's entourage over a contract extension and are hell-bent to tie him down to a long-term deal as they plan to build their squad around him for the next football season.
With his five-star performances so far this term, Ampadu has taken in 29 appearances by scoring and assisting once for Leeds United across all contests in this current 2025-26 campaign.
Born and raised to a Ghanaian father and a Welsh mother, he remains unfit to play for Ghana senior national team at the international level after featuring for the Wales national football team, with 59 caps to his name.
