Belgian side Cercle Brugge have strengthened their defense with the signing of Ghanaian defender cum midfielder Lawrence Agyekum from Red Bull Salzburg.
The 20-year-old has signed a one-year loan deal with an option to buy after the 2024/25 season.
Agyekum joined Red Bull Salzburg from Ghanaian side West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in the 2019/2020 season, but has struggled to establish himself at the Austrian club.
He has had three loan spells with Liefering, where he has made a name for himself with 36 appearances and two goals.
Cercle Brugge is hoping that Agyekum's arrival will improve their chances of playing in European club competitions next season.
The Jan Breydelstadion side finished fifth in the 2023/24 Belgian Jupiler League and will participate in the Europa League.
