Ghanaian midfielder Richmond Lamptey has completed a one-year deal with Libyan top-flight side Al Ittihad Misurata SC.
The 27-year-old joins the Libyan outfit in a transfer valued at around US$50,000, bringing an end to his stint with Rwandan champions APR (Armée Patriotique Rwandaise) after just one season.
Lamptey, a member of Ghana’s squad at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, struggled for form during his time in Kigali, featuring in only eight league matches without registering a goal or assist.
Confirming his departure, APR issued a farewell note:
“Thank you, Lamptey Richmond. We appreciate your time, effort, and commitment to APR FC. Best of luck on your next journey.”
Lamptey had joined APR in June 2024 from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in a two-year deal reportedly worth US$150,000.
The former Kotoko midfielder is currently en route from Dar es Salaam to Kigali, where APR recently participated in the Kagame Cup, before linking up with his new teammates in Libya.
