Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey, who plays for Arsenal, will remain in England for an additional week to continue his recovery while the team travels to the USA for their pre-season tour.
Partey has been training with the Gunners for several weeks after joining the preseason preparations following a short break in Ghana. He recently played in Arsenal's 3-3 draw against Nurnberg, a German team.
However, the Black Stars midfielder has been excluded from Arsenal's travel squad to the USA due to an injury. Instead, he will join his teammates in the USA next week, along with Emile Smith Rowe.
The decision to leave Partey and Smith Rowe behind is aimed at allowing them to fully recover before joining the rest of the team in the North American country.
During their tour, Arsenal will face the MLS All-Stars team at Audi Field in Washington D.C on Wednesday, July 19. They are also scheduled to play against Manchester United at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday, July 22, and Barcelona at SoFi Stadium on Wednesday, July 26, concluding their tour.
By giving Partey additional time to recuperate, Arsenal aims to ensure that he returns to full fitness before rejoining the team for the upcoming season.
