Ghanaian young midfielder Lawrence Agyekum made his debut appearance for Cercle Brugge against Kilmarnock FC in the UEFA Europa League qualification playoffs.

The Belgian club managed to secure a crucial 1-1 away stalemate with Kilmarnock FC at the BBSP Stadium, Scotland, on Thursday evening.

After a lack of goals in the first half, Belgian-born Kazeem Olaigbe, of Nigerian heritage, opened the scoring for Cercle Brugge in the 55th minute of the game.

Scottish international David Watson rescued Kilmarnock FC from a home defeat with his strike in the 70th minute to end the match in a one-all draw.

Agyekum was introduced in the 76th minute as a replacement for Kazeem Olaigbe to make his first-ever appearance for Cercle Brugge after joining them this summer. His compatriot Francis Abu enjoyed the full duration of the match for Cercle Brugge.

He arrived at Cercle Brugge this summer from Austrian Bundesliga giants Red Bull Salzburg on a season-long loan deal with an opening to purchase.

Agyekum, who has yet to represent Ghana at any level, is a product of West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC.
