Ghanaian youngster Douglas Owusu has officially completed a high-profile move to Red Star Belgrade, sealing a major step forward in his rapidly rising career.

The highly-rated 19-year-old attacker has signed a three-year contract, with the option of an additional year, after successfully passing his medical and finalising all contractual details following his transfer from FK Radnik Surdulica.

Red Star Belgrade are understood to have paid a fee in the region of €2.7 million, a clear indication of the club’s belief in Owusu’s quality and long-term potential.

Owusu is expected to link up immediately with his new teammates in Antalya, Turkey, where the Serbian champions are currently holding their mid-season training camp ahead of the second half of the campaign.

The move comes on the back of an impressive breakthrough season in the Serbian Super Liga, where Owusu’s performances earned him a place in the Team of the First Round. He scored seven goals in 20 league appearances, while also standing out for his relentless work rate, pressing intensity, and intelligent movement in attacking areas.

Since joining Radnik in 2024 from Ghana’s second-tier league, Owusu adapted swiftly to European football, establishing himself as a key figure and attracting interest from several clubs across Europe and Africa, including Young Boys, Samsunspor, and Al Ahly.
