Ghana centre-forward Brandon Thomas-Asante scored in Coventry City's 2-1 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

Brennan Johnson scored a 93rd-minute winner as two late goals helped Tottenham come from behind to sink Championship side Coventry City in the Carabao Cup third round.

Tottenham struggled for large periods and fell behind when Brandon Thomas-Asante gave the hosts a deserved lead, sweeping in Norman Bassette's low cross in the 63rd minute.

But Djed Spence equalised for the Premier League outfit in the 88th minute after being put through by Dejan Kulusevski.

Five minutes later, Johnson completed the turnaround with a composed finish after a fine through-ball from Rodrigo Bentancur.

Victory ended Spurs’ two-match losing run and ensured the north London club would be in next Wednesday’s last 16 draw.

Thomas-Asante, who arrived at Coventry City this summer from WestBrom, enjoyed the entire duration of the game with a stellar performance.

He has scored two goals in his eight appearances for the Championship club in all competitions in his debut season.
