Nigerian Women’s Football League (NWFL) side Edo Queens have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian goalkeeper Charlotte Adjei ahead of the 2025/2026 league season.

 

The 23-year-old joins the 2023/24 NWFL Premiership champions after a standout campaign with Remo Stars Ladies, where she was named Best Goalkeeper of the Season. Adjei kept 10 clean sheets in 19 appearances and received a ₦200,000 cash award from the Judith Chime Foundation in recognition of her performances.



She was officially unveiled in Benin City on Tuesday, with dignitaries including Edo State Sports Commission Chairman Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele and Edo Queens General Manager Rollanson Odeh in attendance.



“We are pleased to welcome Adjei Charlotte to Edo Queens,” Hon. Enabulele stated, describing the signing as a strategic addition reflecting the club’s long-term goals. “Her experience and talent will undoubtedly add value to our team as we aim for greater success in the league and on the continental stage.”



Prior to her breakout season with Remo Stars Ladies, Adjei featured for Nigerian heavyweights Rivers Angels and Ghanaian powerhouse Ampem Darkoa, gaining top-flight experience across West African women’s football.



Edo Queens General Manager Rollanson Odeh said the signing aligns with the club’s ambition to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the NWFL Premiership title.



“This signing is in line with our mission to challenge for trophies and build a formidable team. We believe Charlotte brings the quality and professionalism we need as we push for silverware.”
