The Gelsenkirchen-based club and the former SC Paderborn 07 wideman will be going their separate ways at the end of the current campaign as announced by the club
2. Bundesliga club Schalke 04 have parted company with Ghana's Christopher Antwi-Adjei after being together for two-and-a-half years in the German football competitions.

The 32-year-old former VfL Bochum winger, whose current deal with the Veltins-Arena campaigners is due to expire on June 30, 2026, will be looking elsewhere for potential suitors when the season comes to an end after failing to secure a contract extension with Die Königsblauen ahead of the summer transfer window.
A statement of confirmation over the separation of the two parties reads: ''There is now clarity over Christopher Antwi-Adjei’s future. The 32-year-old will leave FC Schalke 04 at the end of the current season, with his contract due to expire on 30th June. Antwi-Adjei joined Schalke in summer 2024. He has made 33 appearances for the Royal Blues so far, scoring two goals and providing three assists.''

The Ghanaian winger has spoken to the club's official website: ''
It was important for us to sit down together, talk through his situation and create clarity,” said Youri Mulder, director of professional football. “For now, Chris is fully focused on doing everything he can to help the team and the club in the remaining games.”
“I’m grateful for the open conversation and for the time I’ve had here so far. But it’s still too early for farewell words, because we’re right in the middle of a crucial stage of the season. I’ll keep giving everything in training and in matches right until the end.''

He currently boasts of 3 caps with the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars since switching nationality allegiance and represented the West African powerhouse on the international stage in 2019.
