Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Toku has left Belgian top-flight side OH Leuven following the mutual termination of his contract, the club announced on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old joined OH Leuven in 2023 from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv but saw limited playing time during his stint in the Belgian Pro League.
Toku’s introduction to life at OH Leuven was abruptly halted, as his debut lasted just 22 minutes before he sustained a serious injury in a league match against KAA Gent. The setback sidelined the Ghanaian midfielder for an extended period, limiting his involvement during what was expected to be a key phase of his integration into the squad.
Meanwhile, both parties have agreed to end the contract early to allow the player to pursue new opportunities.
Toku began his professional career in Denmark with Fremad Amager before moving to Botev Plovdiv, where strong performances earned him a move to Belgium.
He has represented Ghana at various youth levels and is regarded as a technically gifted midfielder with attacking qualities.
