The 22-year-old defender is set to be under the tutelage of the former Borussia Mönchengladbach manager following the departure of fellow German gaffer Daniel Bauer for the remainder of the campaign
Ghana international defender Jonas Adjetey is set to work under newly-appointed tactician Dieter Hecking at VfL Wolfsburg for the rest of the Bundesliga season.
After seeing the departure of the man who oversaw his recruitment at the Volkswagen Arena during the winter window, the former FC Basel rearguard will now see his talent under the nurturing of the experienced German manager after taking the hot seat in the dugout.
With eyebrows already being raised over his adaptation so far in the top-flight, Adjetey came under the defence of the immediate past manager Daniel Bauer in a recent interview with Kicker: ''Jonas comes from a smaller league, is a very exciting player, but naturally still has some issues to address. Especially in our current situation, the focus is on developing him and integrating him into the team through training."
He has so far featured in 4 games for VfL Wolfsburg in this current 2025-26 Bundesliga season.
After sealing his marquee move to the Bundesliga and the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, the defender would surely be in contention to make the cut for the June global football event with the Ghana senior national team as he currently boasts of 7 caps with the African powerhouse on the international stage.
