Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Washington-Amoah has signed his first professional contract with Charlton Athletic, securing his future with the club until 2028.

The 17-year-old has been rewarded for his steady progress through the club’s academy after joining the Addicks at U15 level.

The young-sensation initially caught the attention of Charlton’s scouts during a Valley Gold tournament, before quickly establishing himself as one of the promising talents within the youth setup.

During his development at the club, the young midfielder has featured for both the U18 and U21 teams, gaining valuable experience against higher-level opposition.

His performances have also been highlighted in the FA Youth Cup, where he continued to showcase his potential.

Washington-Amoah’s journey in English football also included a previous trial with Tottenham Hotspur, giving him early exposure to top-level academy football before settling at Charlton.

The Ghanaian was confirmed as a scholar ahead of the 2024/25 season and was an integral member part of the U16 side that won the 2023/24 Premier League Professional Development League Cup under coach Kieran Culleton.
