The 23-year-old defender of Ghanaian descent is believed to have knocked back the advances of four interested suitors during the January transfer window to stay put at the Aarhus-based club

Danish-born Ghana-target Jonas Jensen-Abbew rejected an unnamed four interested clubs, with two from the Danish Superliga clubs and one each from Portuguese and ltalian elite division clubs during the winter window.

The promising centre-back, currently on the books of Danish outfit Aarhus GF, has been attracting serious attention across Europe, with suitors including; Go Ahead Eagles, IK Sirius and Fredrikstad FK all believed to have courted him in the last transfer market.

lt has now been claimed by Tipsbladet that the former FC Nordsjaelland youth star turned down the opportunity to link up with any of his admirers as he was determined to stay put with the Ceres Park campaigners beyond this season.

The enigmatic defender once reiterated his unquenched desire to stay with Aarhus GF prior to the 2025 summer transfer window, telling TIPSBLADET: '' I'm fully focused on being here and doing my part. I want to finish well here so that we can go into the next season with a good mindset and start fresh and show what we've done during the season in periods where we've played really, really good football and been there where it's fun.''

He added: ''I don't think I've reached that point at all. I've enjoyed being here, even though it's been a bit up and down. It's an insanely cool club with insanely cool people. The results haven't been there lately, and it's a big club with pressure. We haven't lived up to what we want. But we're also happy here, and now we hope that we can turn things around and finish well.''

After suffering from many injury setbacks so far this term, Abbew has managed to take in 11 appearances for AGF across all competitions in this ongoing  campaign.

A grapevine source within the Ghana FA has indicated to Kickgh that, with the absence of Ghana and AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu, the Danish-born talented guardsman is now topping the list of central defenders being penciled down by the west African powerhouse as the ideal replacement for the injured centre-back ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
