Club Deportivo Aurora goalkeeper, David Akologo has been named in the Black Stats squad for the first time ahead of the international friendly matches against bitter rivals Nigeria and Uganda next week.

The 27-year-old in the course of the week, was also handed his call up to the Bolivia national team ahead of their games against Algeria and Bolivia in the maiden FIFA series tournament.

Born in Accra, he has been playing topflight football in Bolivia since 2020 and is undoubtedly one of the best in the country's topflight.

Having already featured for the Black Satellites, the ex- Mighty Jet goalie is yet to choose between the two countries (Ghana and Bolivia), having received invites from both within a week.

This is the first time the Black Stars will be regrouping since their disastrous campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which was held early this year in Cote D'Ivoire.

The Black Stars will take sworn rivals Nigeria on March 22, in Marrakech, and the Cranes of Uganda on March 26, as confirmed by the GFA.

The game will be used as a preparatory path for the four time African champions who will face Mali in June in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
