Ghanaian forward, Ernest Nuamah scored his debut international goal, helping the Black Stars secure a vital victory over the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday.
His goal contributed to Ghana's qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast next year.
Nuamah, now playing for Lyon in France, calmly slotted in a close-range shot after a precise assist from Antoine Semenyo.
Despite an early threat from the Central African Republic, Mohammed Kudus's free-kick goal and Nuamah's strike secured a 2-1 victory for Ghana, extending their unbeaten streak at the Baba Yara Stadium, dating back to 2000.
This marked Nuamah's second appearance for the senior national team, and he expressed his joy on social media after the match.
"Golden moments for the Black Stars! From OSEIKROM the heart of Ghana to the African Cup! Honored to wear these colors and score my debut goal. The journey has just begun!"
