Ghana youth international Ibrahim Sulemana came off the bench to score an important to rescue Cagliari Calcio from a home defeat to Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A on Monday afternoon.
Sulemana, who has been out of action since February due to injury, needed just two minutes to announce his return to the team with a perfect strike to end the match in a one-all draw.
Hellas Verona took the lead through Federico Bonazzoli in the 30th minute of the game.
In the 72nd minute, Sulemana was introduced as a replacement for Alessandro Deiola and brilliantly found the back of the net against his former club after just two minutes.
The budding talented defensive midfielder is a product of the EurAfrica Academy in Ghana and was signed by Hellas Verona in 2021. He was acquired from Hellas Verona from Cagliari for four million euros during the last summer transfer window.
He has now scored two goals in 14 game outings for Cagliari Calcio in his debut season.
