Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey believes last night’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Aston Villa was a fair result considering how both teams played.

Football fans were treated to Premier League spectacle as the 10th placed Seagulls traded blows with Aston Villa in the round 19 clash at the Villa Park until the final whistle.

The Ghana international, Lamptey's brilliant volley levelled matters in the 81st minute, to wrap up the results for what will likely be a draw stalemate.

Lamptey reckons the outcome of the game was a fair one.

“We’d like to have nicked it at the end, but after we got back on level terms it felt like a fair result,” he told the media after the game.

“For the goal I just arrived on the edge of the box and it fell nicely for me and it was great to see it hit the back of the net.

“The changes we made helped. We know we have got quality players who can come off the bench and make a difference," added Lamptey.

Lamptey have now scored two goals and grabbed one assist after featuring in seven rounds of Premier League matches this season.
