Ghana captain Jordan Ayew registered his third goal for Leicester City in their away draw with Bristol City in the English Championship on Wednesday evening.

An 83rd minute goal from Danish international Emil Riis rescued a point for Bristol City as the Robins fought back brilliantly from 2-0 down against Leicester to draw 2-2 at Ashton Gate.

Ayew's coolly clipped penalty, after Stephy Mavididi was brought down by Scott Twine, gave Leicester an early lead before Bobby De Cordova-Reid's first-time finish against his former club seemingly had the Foxes cruising to victory against a listless home side at half-time.

Abdul Fatawu teed up with De Cordova-Reid for the second goal for Leicester City on the stroke of halftime.

But Mark Sykes beat Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk at his near post immediately after the break to spark a Robins revival after the first 45 minutes finished to the sounds of boos in the stands.

There was frustration when Sinclair Armstrong directed what appeared to be a goal-bound header from team-mate Rob Dickie onto the woodwork, but jubilation followed in the 83rd minute as Ross McCrorie found Riis to complete the turnaround with a deft nodded finish.

Ayew has scored three goals and provided one assist in 18 league appearances for Leicester City in the ongoing season’s campaign.

His compatriot, Abdul Fatawu, who lasted for 84 minutes, has also notched up three goals and assisted six times in 20 matches for the Foxes.
