Hull City midfielder Darko Gyabi says he remains open to playing for Ghana at senior level as questions continue to surround his international future.

Gyabi, born in England to Ghanaian parents has featured for the Young Lions across multiple youth categories and was part of England’s squad at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

However, the 21-year-old has not been called up to the England U-21s since November 2024, leaving his next steps at international level unresolved.

Speaking to RG, Gyabi stressed that while his priority is helping Hull City’s Championship campaign, he has not ruled out the Black Stars.

"I definitely know that Ghana can be an option in the future, but it’s all about timing," he said. "My Ghanaian roots are just part of who I am."

Gyabi, whose entire family are Ghanaians, maintains a strong connection to the country and returns frequently.

"I love going back to Ghana. My entire family is from Ghana," he added.

His remarks come as Ghana prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.

With both England and Ghana monitoring his progress, Gyabi’s long-term international decision could prove pivotal for his career.
