Jordan Ayew came off the bench to score a crucial late goal as Leicester City secured a pulsating 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday in their Championship round 31 clash at Hillsborough Stadium.

The Ghanaian forward didn’t start the game but was later introduced in the 69th minute, replacing Divine Mukasa, with Leicester already trailing after Jerry Yates had given the hosts an early lead just two minutes into the game.

Ayew, made an instant impact, finding the equaliser in the 84th minute to rescue a valuable point for the Foxes.

The goal marks Jordan Ayew’s sixth in the Championship this season, continuing his contribution in front of goal despite Leicester’s struggles.

His countryman Abdul Fatawu Issahaku played the entire duration for Leicester City in the encounter with a rating of 6.7 on Safascore. 

The Foxes remain affected by a points deduction and currently sit 22nd on the table with 41 points, as they prepare to host Swansea City in their next fixture at the King Power Stadium this weekend.
