Ghanaian forward Joseph Opoku has made an immediate impression at Swansea City after scoring his first goal for the Championship side in a pre-season friendly against Spanish outfit Leganes.
The 22-year-old, who only completed his move from Belgian side Zulte Waregem a few days ago, opened the scoring in the 43rd minute of the game to hand the Swans the lead.
Opoku continued to trouble the Leganes defence before making way for Ronald in the 63rd minute after an encouraging display.
The goal marks a perfect start to life in South Wales for the Ghanaian attacker, who will be looking to settle quickly and establish himself ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Having arrived from Zulte Waregem this summer, Opoku is hoping to use the club’s pre-season fixtures to adapt to English football and convince the coaching staff of his quality before the new season begins.
His bright start will come as a major boost for Swansea City, who will be counting on the Ghanaian to carry his confidence into the competitive season.
