LA Galaxy manager, Greg Vanney has lauded the impact of Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil in his debut season having helped them achieve their sixth MLS Cup success.

The 26-year-old joined the Galaticos on a four-year deal in February this year from Belgian side KRC Genk and has been outstanding since his arrival in the Major League Soccer.

Paintsil found the back of the net to power LA Galaxy to an important 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls at the Dignity Health Sports Park last Saturday to emerge champions of the 2024 MLS Cup - winning for a record sixth-time in their history.

He opened the scoring account in just nine minutes from kickoff after calmly slotting in from a descent defense splitting pass from Gaston Brugman.

Serbian international Dejan Joveljic continued with his explosive form having doubled the lead four minutes later with Sean Nealis getting the consolation for the losing side.

Speaking in an interview, the 50-year-old manager heaped praises on their new signings including Joseph Paintsil for their contribution to the club from the commencement of the just-finished campaign

"It was about our style of play, about the profiles that we wanted, and finding guys that we felt like really fit with the guys we had... Joe (Joseph Paintsil) to start with them."

“I mean their ability to adapt to this league quickly and just have incredible seasons... they hit the ground running and had huge seasons."

Joseph Paintsil has climaxed his debut season in the USA on a very higher note having scored 4 goals with an assist in five matches in the playoffs.

He netted 14 goals and provided 8 assists in 34 matches in the entire 2024 MLS season.
