On Sunday afternoon, Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana put in a brilliant performance as his team, Southampton, visited high-flying Newcastle United at St. James Park.

Despite Sulemana's efforts, the Magpies managed to defeat the Saints 3-1, improving their chances of returning to the UCL for the first time since 2002/03.

Sulemana caused constant problems for the Newcastle defense with his dribbling skills and speedy runs. He delivered a cross into the box which Stuart Armstrong latched onto, scoring the opening goal in the first half. However, the hosts equalized through Callum Wilson in the second half.

Newcastle continued to press and were rewarded with the winning goal in the 79th minute when Sven Botman's header deflected off Southampton's Theo Walcott. Nine minutes later, Wilson sealed the victory by rounding goalkeeper McCarthy and slotting the ball into the net.

The result leaves Southampton without a win in nine games and languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table, six points from safety.
