Former Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Opoku has denied he hasn't asked for termination of his contract with USM Algers but admitted he's received offers from the two giants clubs in Ghana.
The 23 year old was with the Porcupine Warriors in the 2020/21 season of which he played only the first round and netted seven league goals in the first phase of the GPL but subsequently left to Algeria that very season even before the start of the second round.
Having signed for the Red and Blacks, the Black Stars forward started on a good note but gradually lost his position at the Omar Hamadi Stadium where notched 7 goals and provided 6 assists in 38 matches in all competitions.
In the summer transfer window, the ex- Nkoranza Warriors striker was loaned out to Saudi Arabian side Najran SC but deal has been terminated in less than a month.
However, the latest development is that, Kwame has asked for his contract to be terminated by USM Algers so he can rejoin Asante Kotoko but the player has debunked that and stated he only handed in a transfer request.
He added by admitting getting offers from the two biggest clubs in the country but added Kotoko are ahead of Hearts of Oak in terms of who can get his service if he is to return to the Ghana Premier League. He said this on the Sports Page One show on Precise FM in Kumasi;
"It's not true i have terminated or requested to terminate my contract with USM ALGERS but rather me and my agent have asked for transfer "
"I have alot of offers including Hearts of oak ,Hearts of oak tallked to my agent sometime ago but for now I can confirm KOTOKO is leading almost 80% done i can assure you for that".
"When I was leaving Kotoko I said i have an unfinished business with the fans so if there's an opportunity to serve again why not " He concluded
