Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, currently on loan at Leicester City from Sporting Lisbon, faces uncertainty regarding his potential permanent transfer to the English club due to financial challenges they are facing.

Reports from Portuguese media indicate that Leicester City's legal troubles have raised concerns about the player's future with the club.

The club is facing allegations of breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules, leading to an independent commission inquiry and a player registration embargo imposed by the English Football League.

Leicester City reported a pre-tax loss of £92.5 million in 2022, marking a significant increase of £60 million from the previous year. This loss has been attributed to the retention of key players and investments in team improvements.

Although the club earned £225 million from player sales between 2016 and 2020, they overspent on new signings starting from 2021. Consequently, legal action has been initiated against both the Premier League and the EFL by Leicester City.

Abdul Fatawu's loan agreement includes a clause stipulating a permanent move to Leicester if the club secures promotion, with Sporting Lisbon expecting a €17 million fee.

However, speculation arises about the possibility of Fatawu returning to Sporting Lisbon given the uncertainties surrounding Leicester City's financial situation.
