Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has lauded the unique qualities of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and dreams of emulating the Norwegian.
Semenyo in his recent interview said that most times it could be a waste of time trying to stop the former Dortmund forward from scoring goals.
Semenyo believes that whether you mark him or not, the Norwegian was bound to score.
Since moving to the Premier League from the German Bundesliga in 2022, no other player has won the Golden Boot.
Haaland scored 27 goals in 31 games last season, adding to the 36 he scored in his first season.
He also had seven hat-tricks in his debut season with Pep Guardiola's team, five of which came in the Premier League.
Semenyo said, according to Earn Your Stripes, “That man (Haaland) is tall…strong, fast, he can finish. He’s got everything you need as a striker.
“The aura he has…if he’s on the pitch and if you don’t mark him…he’s gonna score.
“Everyone’s trying to mark him and even if you mark him, he still scores. I remember watching him…this is the kind of striker I want to be.”
Haaland won the treble of the Premier League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League in his debut season.
