The American top-flight league outfit is on the verge of completing the acquisition of the talented defensive midfielder this summer transfer window.
Belgian-born of Ghanaian descent Pierre Junior Dwomoh is set to complete a sensational switch to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC from Royal Antwerp FC.
Kickgh.com can exclusively reveal that the Belgian Jupiler Pro League side have reached an agreement with Toronto FC over the possible sale of the 20-year-old enforcer for a transfer fee of €4 million.
Royal Antwerp FC have decided to sell the lanky midfielder, as the ex-KRC Genk youth star has been described as unfit to be part of the club's future despite a successful loan spell at RWD Molenbeek, where he scored two goals in 33 appearances.
His contract with Belgian side Royal Antwerp will expire in the summer of 2025.
Dwomoh is scheduled to undergo a mandatory medical examination before signing a four-year contract with the Toronto-based outfit this summer.
Dwomoh's eighth club at age 20
The move to the Major League Soccer side will become his eighth club in his football career at age 20.
At the youth level, Dwomoh began his career at KV Mechelen before joining RSC Anderlecht, and later KRC Genk, where he was offered a professional contract.
His explosive performances at the KRC Genk youth side attracted interest from several clubs in Europe, including AC Milan, Lazio, FC Porto, Leicester City, and Inter Milan, but Royal Antwerp won the race to sign him for €2 million.
He has had loan spells with SC Braga and KV Oostende before his most recent spell with RWD Molenbeek in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
Potential nationality switch to Ghana
Pierre Dwomoh, who was born to Ghanaian parents in Belgium, is still eligible to play for the West African nation despite playing for the Belgians at youth levels.
He has already represented Belgium at the U-15, U-16, U-17, and U-18 levels and is currently a key member of the Belgium U-21 team.
