Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo played a crucial role in Elfsborg’s 1-0 victory over Molde in their UEFA Europa League final qualification match on Thursday evening.
Baidoo provided the assist for the only goal of the match, scored by Ahmed Qasem in the 16th minute. The game, held at Aker Stadion, marked Elfsborg’s first win against Molde, who had previously won both of their prior encounters.
Baidoo, who played the full 90 minutes alongside fellow Ghanaian teammates Terry Yegbe and Jalal Abdulai, was instrumental in securing the victory despite Molde's superior possession and shot count.
Elfsborg will next face IFK Göteborg on August 25 as they look to build on this success. The team currently holds 7th place in the Swedish Allsvenskan table with 29 points from 19 matches.
